We are seeking to recruit a teacher with a passion for working in education and particularly working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will already have QTS, or have a level of teaching experience that makes QTS a realistic goal for them.
The role has been created in response to the growing positive reputation of SEND provision at Trinity Academy. The successful candidate will undertake some whole-class teaching, while also delivering significant small-group withdrawal lessons and some 1-1 interventions. They may also support teachers across the school to meet the needs of all students, through team teaching and, where appropriate, through coaching.
The Academy has implemented a knowledge-based curriculum. The aim of the curriculum is to develop culturally literate young adults who have the knowledge and skills to be successful in any walk of life. The Academy sees this as an appropriately high aspiration to hold for all students, including those with SEND.
The successful candidate will have experience delivering a curriculum to learners with SEND. Experience teaching phonics is desirable; the role may well appeal to a primary-trained teacher looking to work within a secondary school context.
We are developing a highly academic culture where the highest standards are expected of staff and pupils. It is a dynamic and demanding school and one where pupils and staff are exceptionally well supported. It is also a happy, cohesive and very purposeful environment.
